- How do I steer?
- On iPhone and iPad, hold the left or right side of the screen. On Apple Watch, turn the Digital Crown. Gentle turns grip the ground. Hard turns break into a drift, which is fast, loud and wakes anything asleep nearby. iPhone and iPad also take a game controller or a keyboard.
- How do I go Unbothered?
- On iPhone and iPad, press both sides of the screen at once. On Apple Watch, tap the screen. For 2.6 seconds chasers lose your scent and you make no sound. It recharges in 14 seconds. Some Dailies take it away: on a No Unbothered day you out-steer them.
- How many bites can I take?
- Three, and a bear bite counts as two. Seven quiet seconds without a bite heals one. A lone chaser can never land the last bite; it takes a second one nearby. Get pinned and slow with two or more on you and you are cornered, which is an instant lunch.
- What is free, and what does All of Lunch add?
- The Daily is free, every day: one ranked chase for the leaderboard, then as much practice as you like in that day's world, with a streak to keep and a boss every Sunday. All of Lunch ($4.99, once) adds every world as it's made, any day, and every world added later. Buy it once and it's yours on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
- Are there ads?
- No, and there won't be. A chase lasts about a minute, so a thirty-second ad would eat half of it, and ads work by knowing who you are, which Lunch doesn't want to. So the deal is simple: the Daily is free every day, and All of Lunch is $4.99, once. No ads, no subscriptions, nothing following you around.
- When does the Daily change?
- Every day at 08:00 UTC: midnight in California in winter, 1 a.m. in summer. The Nordic Forest, the Badlands and the Mountain Terraces take turns, and each day has its own name, colours and twist, such as Night, Slippery or Big packs. Sundays bring a boss: a giant who is awake and after you from the start. Everyone plays the same Daily that day.
- Can I play with the sound off?
- Yes, Lunch is built to be played muted. On Apple Watch and iPhone, a wake-up, a bite, a near miss and a drift each have their own haptic, so you can feel what you can't hear.
- Can I play offline?
- Yes. Once Lunch is downloaded, the chase, the worlds and today's Daily all play without a connection: on a plane, on the underground, out of signal. Only the leaderboards and buying All of Lunch need one, and a Daily played offline goes to the board once you're back online, as long as it's still that day's Daily.
- Why did the game stop?
- On Apple Watch, you lowered your wrist. Everything freezes while your wrist is down; raise it and Lunch counts you back in: 3, 2, 1. On iPhone and iPad, tap pause or leave the app and the tub stays parked, on your Lock Screen too, until you tap to keep cooking.
- How do I make the game easier or harder?
- On Apple Watch, tap the cog on the start screen or the pause screen to open Tune the feel. On iPhone and iPad, the cog opens Settings. You can slow things down, change how many sleepers there are, and set the sound and haptics. The Daily always plays at the standard settings, so every score on its leaderboard means the same thing.
- How do I replay the tutorial?
- Open Tune the feel on Apple Watch, or Settings on iPhone and iPad, and choose Replay first run.
- Where are my scores kept?
- Your bests, your Daily history and your streak are saved on your device. Ranked Daily scores go to Game Center's leaderboards, so sign in to Game Center to see the boards and where you rank. Apple Watch and iPhone each keep their own Daily, streak and leaderboard, and bosses have a board of their own. Deleting Lunch deletes what's saved on that device.
- I bought All of Lunch. Why is a world still locked?
- Use the same Apple Account on every device, then open the All of Lunch offer and choose Restore. One purchase unlocks Lunch on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. All of Lunch isn't shared through Family Sharing.
- How do I get a refund?
- Apple handles purchases and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
